A Good Church Will…. – May 16th, 2014

What A Good Church Can Do For You
Beloved

You know, I read Hebrews 10:25 the other day. I have read it many times and it says Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

It is Friday, which means the weekend (yay!) which means church (Saturday for some and Sunday for others). And so I simply wanted to ask you, did you ever consider or stop to think what a good church can do for you? Here are a few; maybe you have others too.

Improved family life – To keep the family together and to strengthen family life, stay in church, and in your home, have Jesus as the pillar that holds your family and household together. A good church will encourage an improved family life.

Friendship. A good church will provide friendship and a sense of belonging. In John 15:15, Jesus said: Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Personal care. Another benefit of a good church is its care for and support of its members. James 1:27 says Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Inner peace and strength. A good church will be there to support and help you in spite of your failures. In a good church, you will not only find forgiveness, acceptance, and restoration but you will also find a sense of inner peace, knowing that your life is right with God. And you will find strength to help you cope with the struggles of life.

Finding God and His will for your life. In a good church, you will learn about God, you will find God and you will experience meaningful worship, find inspiration and help for daily living, and you will have an opportunity to use your abilities to serve others. Find God … and His will and direction for your life. Look at what I read in Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Proposed prayer: Dear Father, thank You that You are always there for each one of us. For my loved ones who do not know You, please open their eyes and ears. I pray for my church. Please help us to be a good church. Start with me, please make me a good member of Your body, the church. With Your help, I will, and to Your glory. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Please find yourself in a good church and make a difference. Be blessed this weekend.
